Together we can "Stand up and say no to ivory"!

On August 4th 2017, New York Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) crushed nearly 2 tons of illegal ivory confiscated through state enforcement efforts. The ivory had a net worth of more than $8 million, representing the lives of more than 100 elephants.

As we look at this ivory, let us reflect on the terrible destruction of wildlife that it represents. The illegal wildlife trade threatens entire species and the livelihood of communities, destroying ecosystems and denying future generations the opportunity to see elephants and other precious species in the wild. With hard work and determination we can work together to end this trade across the illegal supply chain by defending elephants and their habitat on the frontlines, and with strong laws combined with enforcement on the final retail end of the chain.
