Randall Ercanbrack is a high-altitude climber. He’s been all over the world climbing the highest mountains our earth has to offer. In 2015, Randall and his daughter were climbing Mount Everest together when the Nepal earthquake hit.

Randall remembers the snow on Everest going up and down and how terrifying it was to see an avalanche rush down the mountain and consume him and his climbing party. As a result of the earthquake and avalanche, Randall developed High Altitude Pulmonary Edema (HEPA) which affects him to this today.

Randall considers himself very fortunate to have survived this event. He lost friends and members of his group to the earthquake. Both he and his daughter survived.

Randall lives by the motto that you have to do what you love. If you don’t do what you love and live your life, you’re dead. This is what gets him through every day. Living life to its fullest and enjoying every moment no matter the circumstance you’re in.
